ViewPoint Home

ViewPoint is a display and analysis tool. It is intended to be a connection point for CSA, Sales, Grower and GPC.

ViewPoint is not a processing tool. Processing of harvest, mark and application data, the import of foreign data files (drawing and image), surface generation and the generation of "spreadable prescription files" is done with AGIS.

You can:

• Use Spatial Query to model the distribution of events in a field. Example:  "Show me the areas in the field that yielded more than 125 bushels."

• Use Image Algebra to build management zone maps or build an application proposal (a recommendation map).

• Use the Map Maker to print color maps of any combination of themes.

• Use inventory tools like Object Properties to build summary statistics  for a group of fields, a single field or an area within a field.

• Use the Data | Load function to prepare external media for use in the field. If you have been supplied with "spreadable prescription files" by the GPC, you can upload them to a PC Card for use with field equipment. You can build "soil sample navigation files" in ViewPoint and upload them to a PC Card for use with the VCD.

You can not:

• Process the output of field systems such as yield monitors and applicator feedback.

• Export data to a foreign format. Example: Convert a ViewPoint file to MIF format.

• Import data from a foreign format. Example: Convert a MIF file to ViewPoint format.

• Build surface maps from soil sample analyses.

• Build "spreadable prescription files".

• Engage in batch printing of maps.

These operations can be performed for you by the GPC.
